AI Will Be A Critical Component Of Government Transformation

As the incoming Trump administration considers a major overhaul of the U.S. government, AI will be a critical component.

AI Will Be A Critical Component Of Government Transformation

The incoming Trump administration has declared that they will change government - what it looks like and how it works. AI is an essential component of moving this vision forward. Here's what the soon to be created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) already knows and will expect from rapid adoption of AI across the newly designed U.S. federal landscape.

Why AI is key to transforming the government

There have been many attempts at moving government systems to modern infrastructure and to consolidate and streamline processing of payments and benefits distribution systems. What they lacked was a horizontal approach instead of looking at each effort as a specific agency program or project.

DOGE has the opportunity to embrace the big picture and to apply powerful AI capabilities in targeted areas that promise to deliver major improvements and yes, savings.

Here are some ways AI can be applied to this evolution of how the U.S. government works and some examples of how Quantexa is implementing this:

  • AI can migrate processing of government benefits, payments and loans from decades old legacy systems and can do so rapidly with built-in metrics to monitor correctness, guard against bias, and provide transparency into how decisions were made. Quantexa’s Data Fabric eliminates the need for traditional ETL processes by seamlessly creating the new data model while improving data quality by more than 90%.

  • AI is already being used by commercial and government customers to increase the speed at which applications, taxes and other information is processed. Our AI platform provides in-stream error and fraud checking to deter and stop bad actors, while predicting new fraud schemes as they are seen instead of waiting to analyze at the end of a filing season or financial cycle.

  • AI helps improve the quality of transactions by decreasing false positives and increasing the percentage of positive positives resulting in less bad payments being released and a marked improvement in getting money into the right hands.

  • AI has proven to make the workforce more productive and effective. Evidence from our experience shows a more than 60% increase in productivity by using AI to select work, highlight areas for human intervention and attention, and applying GenAI to write reports and other documentation.

  • Reducing Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA) is another area where Quantexa’s Contextual Decision Intelligence AI platform is delivering great value. Stopping bad workers from accessing systems and information they aren't authorized to access is just the tip of the iceberg. AI platforms with granular security controls can protect data and citizen privacy down to basic elements.

  • Governance effectiveness increases when AI is used for real-time monitoring and automation. AI improves data governance by leveraging context-enhanced data to provide organizations with better visibility, consistency, and control over their data. Our solution is the only platform that provides data in three modes: Batch, Real Time and Dynamically.

While all of the AI benefits listed above are important, the most visible benefit coming from AI is improving customer service interactions. By using AI, government will be able to see everything it knows about your issue to provide you with better service. Additionally, you can attain access to your own information because it will be much easier to find and access enable a more natural, intuitive experiences when dealing with government entities -- this in turn will increase people's trust in the government.

Right time and the right technologies

AI is key to the type of transformation the incoming administration seeks for the federal government. Technologies and people with the skills to use them are more widely available than ever.

We don't yet know the approach the new DOGE will apply to this undertaking. We do know there is tremendous value to be gained by taking a horizontal view rather than working in verticals. It's plausible applying AI will be used to identify and reduce data redundancy across thousands of government data repositories. In turn, AI is foundational to provide clean, consolidated, reliable and trustworthy data upon which better government decisions can be made! And, based on our experience, people will be amazed by the results.

Quantexa is helping government transform

Quantexa is already leading government transformation in the areas of tax, borders, supply chain, fraud deterrence and financial crime.

In our experience, all the AI technologies – Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (M/L), Deep Learning, Automation, Natural Language Processing (NLP) to name a few – provide humans with a Contextual Decision Intelligence platform which not only makes them more productive and effective but improves work satisfaction. In turn, satisfied workers tend to stay engaged for a greater return on investment.

The business case is undeniable.
