Kate Platonova

Kate Platonova is HSBC’s Chief Data and Analytics Officer. She joined HSBC in 2017 and was appointed a Group General Manager in 2022.

Her role is to ensure that HSBC takes a data-led approach to its business, managing its data assets and using them to better understand, anticipate and meet the needs of its customers.

Kate has a background in data and technology, with previous roles including HSBC’s Chief Data Architect and a variety of senior technology leadership roles across financial institutions such as Morgan Stanley, Barclays Capital and JP Morgan. Kate is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and is a proud supporter of TechMums, an organisation that educates and empowers women with the goal of increasing digital inclusion. She holds an MBA from Franklin University.
